Mount Pleasant Primary School

Design Technology

Curriculum Subject Lead - Mrs H Walton

At Mount Pleasant, the aim of our Design and Technology curriculum is to provide a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive, develop essential skills and cultivate a passion for innovation and creativity.  Our curriculum aims to instil resilience by encouraging children to embrace challenges and persevere through setbacks. Through hands-on projects and problem-solving activities, children learn to adapt to new situations, experiment with different approaches, and learn from their mistakes. They develop the confidence to tackle complex problems with determination.

Respect for themselves, others, and the environment is fundamental in our Design and Technology curriculum. Children learn to appreciate different perspectives, develop positive relationships by working in teams, and reflect upon the impact of their designs on society and the environment. We aim to develop a sense of pride in their and others achievements.

Our Design and Technology curriculum is not just about teaching technical skills; it's about nurturing the and preparing our children to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
